Prayer for protection

Lord, I thank you for always being there for me.  I know that you promised you would never leave nor forsake me.  With you, I'm never alone.  With you, I can find comfort.  With you, there is nothing that I can't do.  Each year I see new mercies.  I've been Blessed in new ways that I couldn't ever have imagined.  There is no way to earn your love, it just exists for me.  I believe that all we who walk with you and who trust in you will be safe and will not fear.  I thank you Lord that we are covered by Your righteous right hand.  May those who live in fear, find calm as did the disciples when they were being tossed about in a boat on a rough sea until You spoke peace to it.  May we walk with steady feet and sing not as timid people, but sing Your praises loud and long.  In the singing, we shall usher Your presence into our lives, our day, and our situations.  The psalms say that you sit in the midst of us when we sing Your praises.  You speak to us and say "Fear not".  So father, we shall not fear.  Help us to be strong in Jesus name.

Psalm 91
"He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.  I will say to the Lord, My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust".  For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence.  He will cover you with his pinions and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.  You will not fear the terror of the night nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness, nor the destruction that wastes at noonday.  A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you.  You will only look with your eyes and see the recompense of the wicked.  Because you have made the Lord your dwelling place, the Most High who is my refuge, no evil shall be allowed to befall you, no plague come near your tent.  For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways.  On their hands they will bear you up lest you strike your foot against a stone.  You will tread on the lion and the adder' the young lion and the serpent you will trample under foot.  "Because he holds fast to me in love, I will deliver him; I will protect him, because he knows my name.  When he calls to me, I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him and honor him.  With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation."

God's hope for us

These times are difficult.  People are losing their jobs, their homes, their cars, their families, and their minds.  There are so many stories of loss out there that it's enough to make you question whether or not God went on vacation.  It happened in my family, too.  The Lord gave me a message in a dream in 2004.  Essentially the dream was a warning for me that my husband would no longer be in his job.  Well, that did happen. He lost his job.  I know that this particular circumstance has occurred in the lives of many people lately.  When we start experiencing this hardship we begin to wonder about our financial situations in life.  Sometimes situations arise that cut off our source of money and we are left with barely enough.   We may even get to the point where we have nothing left to survive on.  Then there are sometimes we have more than we need.  No matter what that situation is for you today,  you should know that God's hope for us is prosperity.  I have a small white board up in the hallway of my house.  I write scripture on it that I hope will encourage all of the members of our family.  Everyone has to pass through this hallway, and so I write what I feel divinely led to place on the board for us either daily or weekly.   It says, " Mark 11: 24 Therefore i tell you, all things that you pray and ask for, BELIEVE that you will receive it, and you shall have it.
Right under that wording i have another scripture, "Jeremiah 29;11 - "FOR I KNOW THE PLANS I HAVE FOR YOU, PLANS TO PROSPER YOU AND NOT TO HARM YOU.  PLANS TO GIVE YOU A HOPE AND A FUTURE.  Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.  says the Lord .

Lord, I  love you so much.  You are my hope and my salvation.  I'm so thankful that my future doesn't hang on any human, but on You, oh Lord, and my obedience to you. Lord I pray that you would  Please look upon all of our circumstances today father, and hear our prayers.  Our love for you is great, and our hope in you is strong.  You are our all in all.  We lay our lives at your feet.  We place our hearts in your hands.  Help us to rise above all the hurt, harm, and economic depression that is going on in the world.  Your word says that We have not because we ask not, and in Mark 11:24 you tell us that if we say unto the mountain "be thou removed and be thou cast into the sea" and if we believe and don't doubt, then we shall have what we say.  Well, I claim for myself and for my Christian family that we shall be blessed and that if we "come boldly to your throne of grace" we will find help in our time of need.  I ask for a double portion for us all.  Let us be the light on a hill.  Help us to live our lives so that we are examples of all that is Godly and all that is good.  Help us oh Lord to follow your instruction and do be "doers of the word and not hearers only, deceiving ourselves".  After we receive your word for our lives, Lord help us to then do it.  Your word says in Philippians that you are always at work to make us both willing and able to do that which you have called us to do.  We now thank you Lord for all that you have done, and for all that you will do.  We trust in You and we look forward to doing Your will and living well so that others will know that You are alive and that You are real.  Lord please do not let us be deceived by false prophets and false doctrine.  Help us to stay strong in your word and in your will In Jesus Name I Pray, Amen.

So have you investigated the Mormon Faith? A person I care about sent me a quick note about Christians for Romney.

If you are a true christian, there can be no such thing.  Jesus Christ can not be compromised or diminished.  He was not a man who attained Godhood and then was given a planet to rule.  Adam was not God.  God created and later banished Adam.

This information about the Mormon church came from a practicing Mormon as he studied and learned about his Mormon faith.  His name is Richard Packham.  I'm just posting a copied portion of his findings.  These statements are direct quotes from Mr. Packham.  His writing is entitled "Why I Left the Mormon Church".  His writings can be found on the internet under that title.  These are only excerpts.  I will not post the entire transcript.

"First, I am descended from a long line of faithful Mormons. All of my ancestors in every branch of my family, for four, five and six generations, were Mormons. The Mormons and their history are my heritage. It is my only heritage. It is where I come from. None of my Mormon ancestors were great or famous, but I have read their stories, and they were good people. They were faithful, hard working, and deserving of my respect. The history of my family is inevitably intertwined with the history of the Mormons, their migration to Utah and the settlement of the mountain West. I cannot ignore Mormonism and Mormon history without forgetting my past."

"The Mormon church boasts of its rapid growth. This growth, in addition to its stance in favor of large families, is because it maintains a large voluntary corps of full-time missionaries who are a well-trained and thoroughly indoctrinated sales force whose sole purpose is to bring more people into the church. Their goal is not to convert, but to enroll, not to enrich lives, but to baptize, not to save sinners' souls, but to enlarge membership rolls. This missionary force is not directed by caring clergymen, but by successful businessmen, because the Mormon missionary effort is a business, and a very successful business, when judged by business standards.
But the ultimate goal of the church, as stated publicly by its early leaders Joseph Smith and Brigham Young (but not mentioned so publicly by more recent Mormon leaders), is to establish the Mormon Kingdom of God in America, and to govern the world as God's appointed representatives. The church is already influential in the making of secular policy, as was proven not so long ago when the Equal Rights Amendment was defeated with decisive help from the Mormon church.
To me, the possibility that the Mormon church might control America is a frightening prospect."

"What began to bother me most was that the church did not seem to be telling the entire truth about many events in its past. The evidence I read seemed to leave no doubt that the church had encouraged, if not organized, the enforcer gangs called the Danites or the Avenging Angels. Too many independent and primary sources testified of their activities. At that time in my researches the true story of the Mountain Meadows massacre was becoming known, an atrocity which the official church history passed off as the work of Indians, whereas it was becoming clear that the primary blame was on the church. The massacre itself was bad enough, but to me the subsequent whitewash by the church was worse, so far as the divine nature of the church was concerned. It bothered me, but I put the thought aside."

"Among the papers of my grandfather, who had served a mission to England in 1910, I found a number of tracts and pamphlets that he had used on his mission. One was the transcript of a debate in 1850 between John Taylor (then an apostle, and on a mission in England) and a Methodist minister. Among the topics discussed in the debate was the rumor, common at the time, that the Mormons were practicing plural marriage. Taylor vigorously denied the rumors as a vicious lie, and firmly asserted on his honor that Mormons were good monogamists. At that very time, however, Taylor himself was married to twelve living wives. All of the top men in the church also had multiple wives at that time. How could a prophet of God lie so blatantly? It bothered me, but I tried to put the thought aside."

"However, I remained a faithful member of the church, fulfilling all my church obligations, attending meetings, observing the Word of Wisdom, wearing my temple garments. But I was struggling mightily to reconcile the church's inconsistencies, lies, and dubious past with my faith in its divinity.
It was at a single moment one day in the university library when I was pondering this problem. I was suddenly struck with the thought, "All of these problems disappear as soon as you realize that the Mormon church is just another man-made institution. Everything then is easily explained." It was like a revelation. The weight suddenly lifted from me and I was filled with a feeling of joy and exhilaration. Of course! Why hadn't I seen it before? ."

"As a postscript: Apostle Bruce R. McConkie admitted that Brigham Young did teach that Adam was God, and that the church has indeed lied about its own history. (read his letter here)He says that Brigham Young was wrong, but he has gone to the Celestial Kingdom; but if you believe what Brigham Young taught about that, you will go to hell. The fact that the church can put a "positive spin" on these admissions is truly mind-boggling."

Didn't my Lord deliver Daniel?

Have you ever been hurt and deceived by someone you loved and trusted?  It changes many things for you.  Their selfish, hurtful action changes the way you, the victim view the world.  It certainly changes your level of trust for that person.  As I speak and pray with more and more families who have encountered this problem, it occurs to me that the devil must be busy, and he's getting a lot of cooperation from many of us who are humans.  First people encounter situations in their lives that make them unhappy with either themselves or the world around them.  Then we humans decide that there is no easy fix for our lives, so instead of using prayer and faith, we look for comfort even if it's temporary.  That temporary help usually comes in the form of drugs or alcohol.  We soon get hooked.  Then we spend all our discretionary money on drugs and alcohol (yes, marijuana is a drug) and soon our money for bills is spent on the mind-numbing, pain killing, temporary fix.  The problem is that the fix we fall into is temporary and therefore addicting. (yes, even marijuana)  Soon people find themselves in a position that they never would have believed they would be in.  They are stealing from family and lying to family.  Hurting the ones they love is easiest because family members are so trusting, so willing to be in disbelief, and are often such easy marks.  Apparently the horrible feeling of guilt, and the "What did I do?" moment comes later for the person who has become a liar and a thief.  It is a hard thing to have happen to you, if you are the one who has been hurt.  You will worry about your family member or friend and your anger and mistrust will grow.  If you are a mother, your sorrow and questioning will grow as your heart cries out for your child to be delivered from that substance abuse.  You will find that the more you try to help, the worse the situation becomes.  The only thing that will work is prayer.  The only one who can fix it is God.  He can reach down inside a person and clean them up.  The best part is that He is so willing to do just that.  Now, he doesn't do that just so the person will turn around and do the same thing again.  God wants permanent change.  Scripture tells us that God is always at work to make us both willing and able to do that which He has called us to do.  He needs us to be faithful in prayer and tough love.
He cast 2000 demons out of Legion.  He tells us to "Come boldly to his throne of grace and to receive mercy and help in our time of need.  He's serious about it.  All I know is that He delivered Daniel, and He can deliver our loved ones from the trap of addictive substances.  We just can't give up.  We have to continue to bombard heaven.  God hears, He hears and He is working.  It may take time, but God knows what He is doing.  Didn't my Lord Deliver Daniel, then why not every man?  God is not a respecter of persons and it isn't his desire that any should perish.  Drugs and alcohol make a person feel as though they are far away from God, but God is never far away.  He tells us that He will "NEVER leave nor forsake" us.  If you are praying for a loved one who has lost his or her way, join me in fighting for our loved ones.  "The prayers of the righteous work many great things" and "Where ever two or more agree in touching it shall be done"  Lets join our voices, our hearts, and our prayers for our loved ones to be saved and delivered so that our homes can be happy ones again.
Dear heavenly father, we come before you now in the mighty and miraculous name of Jesus Christ. Lord we have so many concerns, but right now we are praying for our friends and family members who have lost their way and can't fight to get back to you alone.  WE now join our voices and our hearts to fight for them.  First we ask dear Lord for you to help us to forgive and to walk in faith.  Let us have pure hearts as we come before you Lord, putting all bitterness aside.  Father we ask that you would heal and deliver our loved ones who are addicted to harmful substances.  Lord they have gone out into the wilderness like Nebuchednezzar and are not in their right minds.  Father you led King Nebuchednezzar to the wilderness because of his wrongful acts and thinking, but when he was ready, you clothed him in his right mind and brought him home.  Help our loved ones to get ready Lord so that you can clothe them in their right minds.  Bring them back to us whole, healed, delivered, and ready to walk as men and women of faith who can stand upright before you with hope and a determination to walk with you.  We plead the purifying blood of Jesus on them Lord, for it saves, protects and delivers.  In Revelations your word says that we were able to overcome by the blood of the lamb and by our testimony.  Father as you heal, deliver, and save our loved ones from themselves and the addiction that was placed before them, help us not to be judgmental and condemning.  Help us to be forgiving, even as you are, and to throw their past into the sea of forgetfulness.  Help us to forgive completely even as we would and do want to be forgiven.  Make us over Lord, and help us move forward without looking back so that we will be pleasing to you.    This we pray in Jesus name.  Amen.

In Times Like These

Well, the weather is changing.  Yeh, it's weird.  The economic climate is not good.  Some politicians appear to be giving up.,,and here we are-stuck. But wait - There is Good news.  God is still real.  He is still in control.  He still knows what we need to survive.  He still loves us. He still cares.  Yes, God is real.  He is still working in our lives.  Perhaps more now than ever it is possible to see HIs great works in our lives.  I hear believers saying that now they just speak a word or think something, and it comes to pass.  Healings are occuring.  Businesses are opening.  Jobs are being offered.  Yes, in the midst of this depressing situation that has been created by man's greed, we have hope.
In Him we stand on solid ground.  We believe that we really do "triumph in Christ".  He is our sole salvation.  He is the God of Hope.  He does cause us to flourish like an oasis in the midst of a desert.  We just have to remember that an oasis offers comfort, refreshing, and hope to all who come there.  Let us be a ray of hope in the lives of those who see only clouds and negativity.  Let us remind those who are suffering that God has built an ark for us in the midst of our storms.  His name is Jesus.  He is the ark of the covenant.  He is the answer to prayer.  He is the wheel in the middle of the wheel.  '
Let us climb aboard the Ark called Jesus, and let us find peace as He speaks to the storms in our lives.  Allow the King of kings to come into your life, your heart, your mind, and set you free.  He will love you in a way that you have never known.  He will love you unconditionally and He will make a way out of no way.  We always triumph in Him, and we can do all things through Him.  He is the answer.  Get on the Ark.
Father, in Jesus name we come to you.  Your word tells us that we can come boldly to your throne of grace and we will receive help and mercy in our time of need.  This, o Lord is a time of need.  We are so thankful that you already know what's going on , and you already have a solution.  We are tired, and we are ready to climb onto the Ark and rest.  Thank you for being so willing to take care of us.  Thank you for letting us know that we are not alone.  We bless your name.  We give you honor, glory, and praise.  You are our all in all and we are thankful that You wait to help us over the high places.  You help us get through the low places, and you cut down the vines that are so tangled that they hinder our journey.  Father we love you.  Father we relinquish our will to you.  Now we thank you with all our hearts as we wait on You, trusting in your unchanging word.  In Jesus name we all pray.  Amen.

Dr. Chuck Swindoll teaches how to make disciples

This is a lesson given by Dr. Chuck Swindoll, not by me.  I have placed it here for you to read.  I thought it was excellent and I wanted to share it.  You can find it on the internet.

"How Do We Make Disciples?

Chuck Swindoll

Down through the centuries, Matthew 28:19 has come to be known as The Great Commission. Jesus came to His disciples and spoke these final words to them in person before ascending to heaven:

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, (NET)

Effective Bible study always begins with good observation. Take note of the punctuation at the end of the verse. That's a comma. There's more:

teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age. (Matthew 28:20 NET, emphasis added)

In verse 19, Jesus gave us the assignment, but He didn't leave it there. He assured us of His continual presence as we obey His command and, just as importantly, he told us how to do it. How are we to make disciples? By baptizing them and teaching them to obey.
