Didn't my Lord deliver Daniel?

Have you ever been hurt and deceived by someone you loved and trusted?  It changes many things for you.  Their selfish, hurtful action changes the way you, the victim view the world.  It certainly changes your level of trust for that person.  As I speak and pray with more and more families who have encountered this problem, it occurs to me that the devil must be busy, and he's getting a lot of cooperation from many of us who are humans.  First people encounter situations in their lives that make them unhappy with either themselves or the world around them.  Then we humans decide that there is no easy fix for our lives, so instead of using prayer and faith, we look for comfort even if it's temporary.  That temporary help usually comes in the form of drugs or alcohol.  We soon get hooked.  Then we spend all our discretionary money on drugs and alcohol (yes, marijuana is a drug) and soon our money for bills is spent on the mind-numbing, pain killing, temporary fix.  The problem is that the fix we fall into is temporary and therefore addicting. (yes, even marijuana)  Soon people find themselves in a position that they never would have believed they would be in.  They are stealing from family and lying to family.  Hurting the ones they love is easiest because family members are so trusting, so willing to be in disbelief, and are often such easy marks.  Apparently the horrible feeling of guilt, and the "What did I do?" moment comes later for the person who has become a liar and a thief.  It is a hard thing to have happen to you, if you are the one who has been hurt.  You will worry about your family member or friend and your anger and mistrust will grow.  If you are a mother, your sorrow and questioning will grow as your heart cries out for your child to be delivered from that substance abuse.  You will find that the more you try to help, the worse the situation becomes.  The only thing that will work is prayer.  The only one who can fix it is God.  He can reach down inside a person and clean them up.  The best part is that He is so willing to do just that.  Now, he doesn't do that just so the person will turn around and do the same thing again.  God wants permanent change.  Scripture tells us that God is always at work to make us both willing and able to do that which He has called us to do.  He needs us to be faithful in prayer and tough love.
He cast 2000 demons out of Legion.  He tells us to "Come boldly to his throne of grace and to receive mercy and help in our time of need.  He's serious about it.  All I know is that He delivered Daniel, and He can deliver our loved ones from the trap of addictive substances.  We just can't give up.  We have to continue to bombard heaven.  God hears, He hears and He is working.  It may take time, but God knows what He is doing.  Didn't my Lord Deliver Daniel, then why not every man?  God is not a respecter of persons and it isn't his desire that any should perish.  Drugs and alcohol make a person feel as though they are far away from God, but God is never far away.  He tells us that He will "NEVER leave nor forsake" us.  If you are praying for a loved one who has lost his or her way, join me in fighting for our loved ones.  "The prayers of the righteous work many great things" and "Where ever two or more agree in touching it shall be done"  Lets join our voices, our hearts, and our prayers for our loved ones to be saved and delivered so that our homes can be happy ones again.
Dear heavenly father, we come before you now in the mighty and miraculous name of Jesus Christ. Lord we have so many concerns, but right now we are praying for our friends and family members who have lost their way and can't fight to get back to you alone.  WE now join our voices and our hearts to fight for them.  First we ask dear Lord for you to help us to forgive and to walk in faith.  Let us have pure hearts as we come before you Lord, putting all bitterness aside.  Father we ask that you would heal and deliver our loved ones who are addicted to harmful substances.  Lord they have gone out into the wilderness like Nebuchednezzar and are not in their right minds.  Father you led King Nebuchednezzar to the wilderness because of his wrongful acts and thinking, but when he was ready, you clothed him in his right mind and brought him home.  Help our loved ones to get ready Lord so that you can clothe them in their right minds.  Bring them back to us whole, healed, delivered, and ready to walk as men and women of faith who can stand upright before you with hope and a determination to walk with you.  We plead the purifying blood of Jesus on them Lord, for it saves, protects and delivers.  In Revelations your word says that we were able to overcome by the blood of the lamb and by our testimony.  Father as you heal, deliver, and save our loved ones from themselves and the addiction that was placed before them, help us not to be judgmental and condemning.  Help us to be forgiving, even as you are, and to throw their past into the sea of forgetfulness.  Help us to forgive completely even as we would and do want to be forgiven.  Make us over Lord, and help us move forward without looking back so that we will be pleasing to you.    This we pray in Jesus name.  Amen.
