Have you ever felt as though you have fallen into a ditch in your life? You felt like you had to reach up in order to touch bottom? Well, there are 2 things about a ditch. #1. It can protect you from your enemies if you use it correctly. #2 A ditch has walls and an opening. You can both see and hear while you're sitting in a ditch. You're not separated from God. Maybe that ditch gives you a minute to stop and think, to stop and pray, and to begin to offer praise. You can use the walls to get out of the ditch, carve notches and use them to climb out. You're not trapped. Remember, Joseph was thrown into a ditch, but he ended up the second most important man in the land. He had time to climb out of the "ditch" of life and he saved his people and millions of others from a famine.
Consider your "ditch". Whether you were thrown in, or you fell in you WILL get out of it. What did you learn? How will you use what you learned? How can you help others benefit from your lessons in the "ditch"? Instead of making you depressed or desperate, the "ditch" could create a change of direction that will be an exciting new beginning in your life.
