Sacrifice

If someone asked you to choose a child, parent, sibling, grandchild, or best friend to be destroyed, or to lose their life, who would you pick? The one who doesn't listen? The mischievous one? The quiet one? The artistic one? The youngest, or oldest one?  How could you possibly choose one? What would you do?  Most of us would not choose, but would offer our own life instead. We couldn't live with the thought of sentencing a loved one to death.  That's what Jesus did for us.  He asked God not to choose, but he offered himself as a living sacrifice.  John 3:16 -"For God so loved the world, that HE GAVE His only begotten son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish, but will have everlasting life."  Jesus said,
"No one takes my life, but I lay it down willingly." John 10:18
John 15:13
"Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends."  He is the great and eternal sacrifice. We can spend eternity in heaven with Him because of his sacrifice.  It takes more than "being good". Look to Jesus.  He'd love to hear from you.
