"Give us this day our daily bread,"
This is where we ask God to supply us with our daily needs, not just bread. Matthew 6:9 says "pray LIKE THIS". It doesn't say pray this exact prayer. So when we pray, we first acknowledge Him. (Our Father) Next we give him honor, glory and praise. (Hallowed be thy name)Acknowledge his station (thy kingdom...)
After that we can ask for what we need. It's like a letter; Dear whomever, I hope this letter finds you doing well and in good health. How is everything going? How's the family? I miss talking to you, we had so much fun together. Listen, If you can help..."
The Lord's prayer is a model, or outline. Of course we can pray it as it is, but when we pray at other times, remember the order of this special prayer.
