"The weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but are mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds  and the casting down of imaginations and all things that would rise up against the name of God" 
We are at war.  The Word Of God tells us that.  What is the first rule of war? Like opposing football teams, know your enemy. Know your enemy's moves.
Rule #2. BE PREPARED
Do you know your enemy?
Are you prepared?
Are you pretending that the enemy of the people of God is a cartoon character only?
Are you still going after people first and ignoring the instigator of evil?
Know your enemy.  Prepare for war.
